Happy Mother's Day

So happy with how this turned out..a slice of summer for year round enjoyment.

Have been busy weeding the beds and planting.The peas are up,beets are sprouted and carrots are just popping out. Since it's Mothers Day I'm slacking today! Happy Mother's Day to you all.

I've been spoiled today the girls got me my Foodsaver and Honey has inundated me with flowers ...I guess he couldn't decide which hanging basket to get so he got me all three :)

Yes it's been one of those weeks and again I've ignored this poor little blog.
On the bright side I've managed to get 2 rugs drawn up and ready to hook..Laundry is down to a small molehill and my home is looking spiffy with all the cleaning that's been going on.

Spring

Just playing around last night didn't feel like starting a new rug yet so I made this little punch needle piece. Since it was just a quick doodle I thought I'd share it with you...feel free to make whatever you want out of it just remember to share the credit if you do :) If you want the finished product it"s available in my Etsy shop.

It's a dreary rainy day here so off to play with some wool :)

I would say Spring is in the air...but we seem to have skipped it and went directly to Summer. Today was a high of 27 and then that nastiest of nasty words Humidex was added we went up to 31 celsius whhha???? it's only March!! Oh well at least it hasn't been raining so YAY no mud... with 2 very active puppies this winter has been a never ending battle with mud..yep lots and lots of mud not quite what you think of for a Canadian winter is it? What a strange year 2012 is shaping up to be.

 I've been busy hooking away and have finished up a log cabin rug it's a gift so I won't post any piccys of this one. I've been slacking and am only half way through the basket weave crochet afghan. I'm hoping it will be done by next winter lol.

My gardens have been calling me and so far I have resisted the urge to work in them(just a little bit of puttering and weed pulling).It's been so tempting to plant a few things but I just know it's way too early and more than likely I'll just lose everything to a frost. Anyone given in to the urge?

 

This is a little rant feel free to skip it...

Tonight we had subway for supper not a huge deal to some but to me it was just another nail in my coffin of cookery creativity. You see I live with not 1 but 2 of the world's pickiest contrary eaters. What's so bad about that you say? I love to cook and have some mad skillz in the kitchen.( In other words no one has died in the eating of any of my gourmet extravaganzas!!) Not braggin' just stating lol. It doesn't seem to matter what's on offer you get the same lip curl and look of disdain with a huffy I don't like that you know that Grrrrrrrr.Since Hubby has been working afternoon shift for the last few years I've found that I only seem to eat an enjoyable meal on the weekend and most of the time we get to fight over who's cooking. Hubby is addicted to his BBQ regardless of weather and doesn't get it that I want to cook nay will gladly cook us a meal.Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Pure Ol' Laziness

Wow it's been quite awhile since I've updated this little blog...my only excuse is laziness.I've been super ultra busy honest. Will try to post on here more often time just seems to slip away. Creatively I've done a few rugs, got in hubby's way while he re-purposed an old wreck of a wardrobe into a tall hutch for me.hmm painted the laundry room,did lots of canning,did a bit of organization before Christmas and have a lot more to do. To be honest looking back I don't think I accomplished as much as I wanted to but it's a new year and I have lots of projects to finish up,and lots of new ones to start..ever have that feeling that your never going to catch up on everything?
